Project Controls Lead

About this opportunity

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•  Support Tactical Issues: Address and resolve tactical issues that arise during the implementation and deployment of Business Operations/Project Controls across various mega-projects or Large Portfolios, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution.
• Facilitate Interface Between Business Operations Elements: Enhance coordination and communication between the different elements of Business Operations/Project Controls, including cost management, schedule management, change management, risk management, commercial reporting, project metrics and reporting, contract development, and government regulatory support.
• Support Leadership Roles: Assist the two key leadership roles—one focused on cost and schedule programs and the other leading Change Management, Risk Management, Commercial Reporting, Project Metrics and Reporting, EVMS Implementations, and new Business Development Activities—in their strategic and operational duties.
• Enhance Engagement: Ensure effective engagement and collaboration with various stakeholders involved in mega-projects, including Project Managers, Support Organizations, Contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor Project and Implementation Performance: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to measure project progress and success.
• Ensure Compliance: Support compliance with internal and external governance requirements, processes and interactions with regulatory bodies.

Who we’re looking for:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, business operations, or a related role within the utility or construction industry.
• Strong understanding of cost management, schedule management, change management, risk management, commercial reporting, and project metrics.
• Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to address tactical issues effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate coordination between various business operations elements and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of state-level regulatory requirements and compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent
• Experience in managing large capital projects within the utility sector.
