  • About this opportunity

    Business Development Director will lead drive the company's business growth in Romania and represent Gleeds as an ambassador. This role is pivotal in shaping our regional strategy, winning new projects, and ensuring sustainable expansion while aligning with the global standards and values.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Developing and implementing a comprehensive business development strategy for Romania, identifying key clients, and opportunities in line with Gleeds’ global objectives.
    • Analysing market trends, competitor activity, and economic conditions in Romania to inform strategic decisions and position Gleeds as a market leader.
    • Driving revenue growth by securing new contracts and expanding service offerings across cost management, project management, and digital solutions.
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients, including developers, contractors, government bodies, and private investors, to secure repeat business and referrals.
    • Acting as a senior ambassador for Gleeds, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities in Romania and the wider region.
    • Ensure client satisfaction by collaborating with delivery teams to align services with client expectations and needs.
    • Leading the preparation and submission of high-quality bids, proposals, and tenders, ensuring alignment with client requirements and Gleeds’ standards.
    • Working closely with regional and global teams to share insights, align strategies, and leverage Gleeds’ international expertise for local opportunities. 
    • Enhancing Gleeds’ brand visibility in Romania through targeted marketing initiatives, partnerships, and thought leadership activities.
    • Monitoring and reporting on business development performance, providing regular updates to senior management on progress against targets.
    • Working harmoniously with other Directors and assisting the Country Director and the Regional Director.

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Extensive experience in business development of project management services of major construction projects or frameworks in Romania.
    • Excellent knowledge of the national market and the national real estate and construction business (i.e. Residential, Hotels, Commercial, Leisure, Logistics, or other).
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient networker.
    • Demonstrable evidence of managing Client relationships.
    • Demonstrable experience of timely interfacing with clients and key stakeholders at the highest level.
    • Ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.
    • Native / bilingual in Romanian, fluency in English.

    Qualifications

    • University degree in Engineering, Architecture or in the construction-related field.
