  • Associate Director – Strategic Asset Management

    We are searching for an Associate Director – Strategic Asset Management specialist with  early stage property strategies / proposals (RIBA 0-2) and active business case delivery experience  to join our Strategic Asset Management team in the Midlands.

    Our Strategic Asset Management team specialise in providing expert advice to a variety of local and national organisations in relation to their real estate assets. Largely working with public sector organisations, the team is responsible not only for providing guidance and professional consultancy but also managing the delivery of strategic real estate programmes on behalf of our clients. 

    Associate Director – Strategic Asset Management

    You will work collaboratively with the existing team, wider Gleeds and other related disciplines to ensure we continue to deliver best in class services by taking lead on the management of large scale multi-disciplinary real estate programmes,  complex projects from initial visioning, the development of Strategic Outline Cases and subsequently, Outline and Full Business Cases You will able to work on a hybrid basis, working 2-3 days per week from one of our modern City Centre Midlands offices.

    To be successful in your role you will ideally have experience in leading the development of projects through the business case development process, gaining the trust of clients and stakeholders in undertaking this. Prior experience working with public sector clients or as part of a public sector body will be essential as will exposure to the development of early-stage project proposals. A working knowledge of the business case process or a Better Business Case Foundation / Practitioner qualification would be beneficial (full training would be provided).

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Partnering with the existing team to deliver a top-class Advisory service.
    • Responsible for the management of multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate the delivery of large scale, complex real estate projects or programmes as part of the Strategic Asset Management service to the public sector. Opportunities may also arise in the private sector.
    • Implementation of HM Treasury “green book” business case processes, methodologies, and procedures.
    • Build effective relationships with stakeholders and external parties to ensure dependencies are effectively managed.
    • Capture lessons learnt as part of our commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
    • Positively engaging with clients and developing, growing and maintaining client relationships.
    • Delivering high quality services and deliverables ensuring that services meet our client’s requirements.
    • Producing and presenting to clients.
    • Identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the business unit activities.
    • Managing service delivery for profit.
  • About You

  • What we are looking for in our next Associate Director – Strategic Asset Management

    • Better Business Case qualification / knowledge would be beneficial.
    • Knowledge and practical experience of developing Business Cases and wider Consultancy advice for clients.
    • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
    • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
    • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
    • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
    • Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work as part of a hard-working and ambitious team.

    Qualifications

    • Better Business Case qualification would be beneficial or alternatively knowledge through extensive practical experience in this area
    • A recognised project management qualification or working knowledge would also be beneficial.
