Gleeds is an independent global construction consultancy, specializing in Program and Project Management, Project Controls and Strategic Advisory.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to support one of our key clients in the Virginia Beach area. This role will focus on supporting natural gas transmission, pipeline construction and integrity management projects across Virginia and the surrounding region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from initial development through delivery, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within scope and within budget. The role will involve working closely with the client, contractors, project teams and other key stakeholders to manage project performance and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Represent the Owner's interests throughout the project lifecycle and manage project risks to minimize exposure.
- Establish project objectives, strategies, scopes and delivery requirements.
- Assist with the qualification and selection of contractors.
- Manage communications and relationships with project stakeholders.
- Meet regularly with program and project team members to review progress, costs, risks and key deliverables.
- Support estimate development and refinement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply a thorough understanding of cost management practices to monitor project performance.
- Prepare and review cost variance reporting.
- Manage multi-year projects against annualized budgets and approved funding.
- Develop, monitor and maintain project schedules, progress updates and key delivery milestones.
- Monitor and expedite project schedules to support timely delivery.
- Track project resource requirements and availability.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement and other project disciplines to ensure effective project delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Review, evaluate and approve change orders in accordance with project and client requirements.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, reports and project records.
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to senior management and client stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of project management processes and practices.
