  • About this opportunity

    As Senior Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing detailed project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.

    Working closely with the project management, engineering, construction, commercial and project controls teams, you will provide accurate schedule information, identify potential delays and risks, and support the project team in making informed decisions.

    The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure programme objectives are achieved.

    This is an onsite position in New Mexico and the successful candidate will be required to work from the project site.

     
    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules in Primavera P6.
    • Develop baseline schedules and ensure effective monitoring against approved baselines.
    • Manage schedule updates, progress reporting and forecasting.
    • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
    • Establish project logic, sequencing, dependencies and critical paths.
    • Identify schedule risks, constraints, interfaces and potential delays.
    • Perform critical path and schedule impact analysis.
    • Monitor actual progress against planned progress and identify variances.
    • Provide regular schedule analysis and reporting to project and senior management.
    • Work closely with project managers, construction teams, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders to obtain accurate progress information.
    • Review contractor schedules and assess their quality, logic, sequencing and alignment with project requirements.
    • Challenge contractor programmes where appropriate and identify potential schedule risks.
    • Undertake schedule impact assessments for changes, delays and other project events.
    • Support the assessment of extension of time claims and schedule-related commercial matters.
    • Develop recovery and mitigation programmes where projects are experiencing delays.
    • Ensure appropriate resource loading and activity durations are incorporated into project schedules.
    • Monitor key project milestones and deliverables.
    • Coordinate schedule interfaces between multiple contractors, disciplines and project workstreams.
    • Support project controls reporting, including schedule performance indicators and forecasting.
    • Prepare schedule narratives, dashboards and management reports.
    • Maintain accurate schedule data and ensure compliance with project controls procedures.
    • Provide scheduling expertise and guidance to junior planners and project team members.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of project planning and scheduling processes.

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Significant experience working as a Scheduler, Planner or Project Controls professional on major projects.
    • Strong experience using Primavera P6.
    • Demonstrable experience developing and managing complex, integrated project schedules.
    • Strong understanding of critical path methodology and schedule analysis.
    • Experience with resource-loaded schedules and resource forecasting.
    • Experience reviewing and challenging contractor schedules.
    • Experience undertaking delay and schedule impact analysis.
    • Strong understanding of project controls principles and methodologies.
    • Experience working across engineering, procurement, construction and/or commissioning activities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • The ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors and senior stakeholders.
    • Experience within the nuclear sector is strongly preferred.
    • Experience on large-scale infrastructure, energy or other highly regulated projects is highly desirable.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related discipline.
