    Project Manager – Data Centres

    Consultant to Executive level

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Project Manager with a MEP or Design background to join Gleeds' rapidly growing Data Centre team, supporting the delivery of some of the world's most complex and high-profile digital infrastructure projects. 

     Working alongside industry-leading clients, consultants and contractors, you will play a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, managing design deliverables, tracking technical queries and supporting programme governance across fast-paced, mission-critical environments. With exposure to hyperscale, colocation and cutting-edge data centre developments, you'll gain invaluable experience at the forefront of an industry that underpins the global digital economy, while developing your project management skills within a collaborative, people-focused consultancy renowned for delivering excellence across the built environment.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
     
    Manage and coordinate design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
    Track Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, design actions and outstanding decisions.
    Coordinate design review meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
    Maintain design review comment registers and ensure actions are tracked through to closure.
    Support programme governance through the preparation of reports, dashboards and project status updates.
    Assist with the development and maintenance of project execution plans and design management documentation.
    Coordinate interfaces between design consultants, contractors and client-side project teams.
    Support design assurance activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards and governance processes.
    Monitor design progress against programme milestones and escalate risks where appropriate.
    Maintain project trackers, document control processes and reporting packs.
    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of design management best practice.
    Provide support across multiple projects within the wider programme as business priorities evolve.
  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    Previous experience working within an MEP engineering consultancy or multidisciplinary design consultancy.
    Experience supporting the design and delivery of data centre projects, preferably hyperscale, colocation or other mission-critical environments.
    Good understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work, particularly Stages 1–4, with appreciation of how projects progress through design into construction.
    Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, coordinating Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) design activities.
    Exposure to design management, programme coordination or project management within complex construction projects.
    Experience supporting governance, reporting and programme controls is desirable.
    Knowledge of project execution planning would be beneficial.
