Geomatics & Reality Capture play a key role in our Built Asset Solutions offering and is valuable service we deliver for organisations. Our geomatics surveyors provide clients with accurate, detailed and comprehensive spatial data & intelligence, boosting asset management capabilities and asset performance in tandem with our expert building surveying, MEP & facilities management guidance.
We are looking for someone to join our growing geomatics team, collaborating with the wider built asset solutions team for clients nationwide. This is an opportunity to enhance your existing skillset, develop your career and broaden your exposure to new skills, technology and industry sectors.
Our Geomatics surveyors work across diverse built assets, from hospitals & schools to stadiums and in some instances even castles. Whilst your role will generally cover national instructions, there could be future opportunities to travel outside the UK to work with international clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives
- Deliver measured building, topographic and setting-out surveys across a range of sites and asset types.
- Plan and carry out site work using appropriate methods, including total station, GNSS and laser scanning.
- Capture and process point cloud and survey data, producing quality-controlled outputs in agreed formats (for example CAD and BIM-ready deliverables).
- Coordinate survey control, datums and tolerances, maintaining clear field notes and audit trails.
- Support clash-free design and construction by working closely with project managers, cost managers, designers and contractors.
- Contribute to health and safety planning, including RAMS, site briefings and safe systems of work.
- Manage survey data and deliverables to programme, communicating progress, constraints and risk early.
- Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships
- Delivering high quality services and ensuring geomatics deliverables meet customer’s requirements
- Planning service delivery in conjunction with the Director with overall responsibility for the project
- Communicating with and providing good sound professional advice to both clients and other project team members
- Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks
- Remaining in the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line manager
- Producing and presenting to customers
- Managing services delivery for profit
- Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance
