  • About The Role
    We are seeking an accomplished Design Manager with a minimum of 12 years of proven experience in the construction industry, with a primary focus on managing and developing design work and overseeing technical office operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in directing all stages of the design process for large-scale residential and urban development projects. The Design Manager will be based on site, leading and contributing to multidisciplinary design works, ensuring that all technical solutions meet project requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations from inception to completion.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Coordinate the development of comprehensive design packages, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
    • Review design deliverables against requirements, align with design engineers, architects, and technical office staff to foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
    • Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of the technical documents, and specifications, assuring compliance with applicable statutory and contractual obligations.
    • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction managers, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of design solutions within overall project delivery.
    • Manage design change processes, proactively identifying and resolving technical challenges to minimize project risks and delays.
    • Contributing to technical problems analysis and resolution in collaboration of the wider team across the design team, supervision team and the contractor(s).
    •  Implement best practices in design management, quality assurance, and value engineering to optimize project outcomes and support organizational goals.
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related fields; Post graduate degree is a plus.
    • 12+ years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, with a significant track record in leading design management and technical office functions.
    •  In-depth knowledge of design standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to large-scale construction projects.
    • Proficiency in design and project management software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Primavera P6) and strong technical documentation skills.
    • Core leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver innovative, practical solutions in a fast-paced project environment.
