Our Birmingham Building Surveying team are looking for a chartered building surveyor to join us as an Associate Director and take on a lead role in delivery and continued development of our West Midlands service.
Our Birmingham office is the key hub for our services in the West Midlands. We provide a multi-disciplinary service across Building Surveying, Cost Management and Project Management, as well as specialist advisory services to a range of local & national, public & private sector clients spanning, commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, blue light services and more.
As Associate Director in our Birmingham Building Surveying team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a range of building surveying services with a particular focus on technical project delivery for a number of exciting clients. You will also be responsible for the management of junior surveyors within the team, for acting as key point of contact for a number of clients, as well as developing further business with new and existing Gleeds customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives;
- Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships;
- Delivering high quality services and ensuring that building surveying deliverables meet customer’s requirements;
- Managing and delivering building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover.
- Preparing and managing planned maintenance programmes;
- Appointing and managing Sub-consultants;
- Communicating with, and providing good, sound, professional advice to both clients and other project team members;
- Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks;
- Leading and managing teams working for you; ensuring that they are correctly fulfilling their project functions providing mentoring and coaching when required;
- Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realise their full potential;
- Preparing bids for services;
- Managing service delivery for profit.
