Project Controls Engineer - Data & Reporting

Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyse project data to develop a comprehensive and accurate picture of project progress, costs, and quality.
  • Create regular reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and deviations from the original plan.
  • Use tools and techniques such as earned value analysis and risk management to inform decision-making.

Performance Management:

  • Identify, agree upon, and implement performance management techniques and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specific to each project.
  • Monitor project performance against established KPIs.
  • Recommend appropriate corrective actions based on performance trends.

Developing Reporting Structures:

  • Customised Reporting Templates: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to design customised reporting templates that align with the organisation's needs. These templates should capture critical project metrics, such as cost performance, schedule adherence, risk exposure, and quality assurance.
  • Frequency and Distribution: Determine the frequency of reporting (weekly, monthly, etc.) and establish a clear distribution process. Ensure that reports reach the right audience promptly.
  • Standardisation: Work towards standardising reporting formats across projects to facilitate easy comparison and trend analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with company rules and regulations
As well as this you will support the growth of our Project Controls function both internally and externally applying best practice principles into all schedule management activities, including efficient methodology planning, baseline / forecast control, progress reporting, schedule updates, forecast to complete, resource loading, and risk & opportunity.  

About You

This role involves working with Gleeds teams on existing projects and commissions, getting involved and representing Gleeds on exciting new ventures with clients and partners. Successful candidates will need excellent communication skills, a forward thinking approach and the ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues, clients and industry contacts  

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business, or project management). 
  • Proficiency in entry level data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power Platform, Tableau) and experience with database querying (SQL). 
  • Familiarity with programming languages (Python, R) for automation. 
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information effectively. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to spot trends and deviations. 
  • Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach.
