  • About this opportunity

    As a part of the Project management team assigned to the data centre construction project, you will support a full range of procurement and contractual aspects, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, mitigating risks, and supporting project delivery.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Developing procurement and contracting strategies for services and equipment.
    • Conducting strategic sourcing to identify and engage suitable suppliers and contractors.
    • Designing pricing mechanisms to ensure cost-effectiveness and transparency.
    • Performing optioneering and cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making.
    • Providing accurate cost forecasting to inform project budgets and timelines.
    • Preparing contract documents and drafting terms and conditions in alignment with Italian regulations and project requirements.
    • Collating and issuing Invitation to Tender packages to potential suppliers and contractors.
    • Developing selection and evaluation criteria for tender processes.
    • Managing tender clarifications, returns, and the down-selection process to identify the most suitable candidates.
    • Leading negotiations and facilitating the award of contracts.
    • Overseeing subcontracting arrangements and procurement planning to ensure alignment with project goals.
    • Supporting business case development and stakeholder management activities.
    • Providing contract oversight to ensure adherence to agreed terms.
    • Ensuring contract compliance and managing the assurance process.
    • Drafting and issuing project correspondence on behalf of the client.
    • Managing contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including claims preparation and assessment.
    • Handling change control and variation management to address project adjustments.
    • Developing and overseeing subcontracting strategies, including approvals.
    • Proactively managing commercial risks to safeguard project outcomes.
    • Leading project meetings as required to represent procurement interests and update stakeholders.

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Cost, Supply Chain,and Commercial Management - ideally both pre- and post- contract.
    • Experience in construction industry. Direct experience in data center construction is a plus.
    • Previous experience of providing sourcing, procurement and contracts management support to large scale construction programs and projects.
    • Knowledge of international construction industry standards and practices.
    • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
    • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
    • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
    • Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.
    • Fluency in English and Italian.

    Qualifications

    • Engineering degree or technical education in construction-related field
