     About this opportunity

    We’re looking for a recently qualified accountancy professional who’s ready to take on their next challenge. This role will report directly into the Head of Group Reporting & Analysis and play a vital role in improving visibility of business performance.

    You'll assist in the delivery of a sustainable and timely set of monthly Group management accounts in Microsoft Excel monthly to allow visibility of business performance. 

     Key responsibilities

    Assist in the delivery of a sustainable and timely set of monthly Group management accounts in Microsoft Excel monthly to allow visibility of business performance. Management accounts to be:

    • be on a consolidated basis for each of actuals, forecast and budget scenarios, following FRS 102 accounting principles.
    • include Group P&L (by nature and destination), Group Balance sheet (net asset and net debt basis) and Group cash flow (direct and indirect) with relevant drill downs sufficient to analyse performance results against budget, prior forecast and prior period comparatives
    • include relevant financial and non-financial commentary, working with UK Finance Director, International Finance Director and Corporate Overheads (FP&A Manager/Analyst) to inform stakeholders of the key historical and forecast performance messages.
    • Merge the current management reporting numbers with historical statutory numbers to ensure there is only one version of the truth.
    • Ensure management accounts information is sufficient to satisfy banking obligations and review key KPI’s and covenants reporting
    • Assist with the Group intercompany reconciliation process in conjunction with the Group Financial Control team (actuals, forecast, budget scenarios), liaising proactively with subsidiaries to assist each matching-off with their respective related-parties.
    • Complete analysis on key trends and KPI’s across the group, and review cash generation and forward covenant positions within the management accounts commentary
    • Assist with the Group budget process, ensuring this is completed in a timely manner

    Projects

    • Review current management accounts process looking at ways to continually improve the process with the aim of the accounts coming up no later than +3 days from receipt from the business

  • Who we’re looking for:

    Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

    • Understanding of the interaction of financial and accounting transactions within the global, multi-entity, multi-currency group environment.
    • Experience working in a global finance function including exposure to Group consolidation processes
    • Initiative to work in both a team environment and individually.
    • Flexibility to adapt to change in a fast-paced.
    • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail
    • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Accustomed to working in environments where not everything is known, making pragmatic judgements to achieve the best outcome while adopting a continuous improvement approach
    • Strong Microsoft Excel modelling experience
    • Experience of PowerBI reporting and ability to build new reports
    • Strong on processes and a process mindset
    • Fact based communication and decision making
    • Gets stuck into the detail
    • Accustomed to working with imperfect information and striving for continuous improvement
    • Accustomed to working with convoluted but functional systems and process but still able to get the best out of these
    • Strong initiative and inquisitive (is there a better way to perform this task)
