About The Role

 Associate Director - Estimating
South West (Bristol, Plymouth, Bridgewater, home based) 
Gleeds Energy Limited is recruiting for an Associate Director level Estimator to join the team on a permanent basis following an increasing demand on our current projects. This role can be based locally to any of our offices across the UK and there would be a requirement of regular travel to customer sites mainly in the South West. 
This role will report directly to the project management directorate, the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, recommending and implementing industry best practice cost engineering systems, processes and procedures for the delivery of integrated cost and schedule estimates.
This role will also include the direct line management of teams responsible for building, documenting, and maintaining accurate and defendable cost estimates across a portfolio of contracts.

About You

What experience we are looking for - 
  • Previous experience working within a similar role in the Energy or other highly regulated industries such as Pharma/Defence/Petro-Chemical etc.. 
  • An engineering bias with knowledge of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical systems estimating would be beneficial
  • Experience of cost monitoring, control and reporting on exposure, commitment and expenditure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners under time pressure.
  • A desire to continuously pursue innovation and development, with a focus on the customer and the business is required. Proficiency in IT, numeracy and MS Office Basic & Estimating Systems is essential
  • Must have a strong understanding of planning, earned value, progress measurement, cost and change control during pre- and post-contract.
What qualifications that are needed to be successful in this role -
  • Degree qualified or equivalent and ideally, be a member of professional construction / project management organisation - e.g. RICS, ACOSTE, MCIOB, APM.
