  • We’re looking to for post Graduate Building Surveyor, at our Leeds office who is looking to successfully complete the Gleeds internal APC preparation programme; and self-development training in readiness for attaining Chartered status (RICS).

    About this opportunity

    Post Graduate responsibilities for assisting in all Building Surveying projects.

    You’ll assist Building Surveyors in the delivery of building surveying services, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post completion reviews.

    Assisting building surveyors with the preparation of:

    • Feasibility studies
    • Prepare cost plans
    • Designs and detailed specifications
    • Submissions for planning and building regulation approvals
    • Tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes.

    Assisting building surveyors with:

    • Evaluating and reporting on tenders
    • Administration of construction contracts
    • Undertaking surveys including condition surveys, DDA, Fire Risk Assessments, Schedules of Condition and Acquisition Surveys.
    • Preparing reports for customers
    • Undertaking party wall surveyor duties
    • Providing dilapidations advice and delivering dilapidations assessments and negotiating with other parties
    • Undertaking quality monitoring roles of major construction projects.
    • Successfully complete the Gleeds internal APC preparation programme; and self-development training in readiness for attaining Chartered status (RICS)
    • Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks.
  • About You

  • What you will need:

    • The ideal candidate will have Building Surveying Degree or an MSs in Building Surveying
    • You would have already completed a year within Building Surveying and currently looking to complete your APC
    • You will have the right to live and work in the UK. 
    • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
    • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
    • Good ICT skills, with an elevated level of ability in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Lively and enthusiastic, but conscientious and precise.
    • Outgoing and people-orientated, with a strong ability to work as part of a team.
