Roles & Responsibilities:
Pre contract:
• Prepare cost estimates for various MEP design options and provide accurate financial inputs
to support design decision-making.
• Perform and validate precise quantity take-offs for all MEP systems using AutoCAD and
relevant measurement tools, based on design drawings and tender documentation.
• Provide detailed cost plan inputs, incorporating market benchmarks and historical data to
enhance pricing accuracy.
• Conduct detailed rate analysis based on current market trends for MEP services and
materials, including labour and equipment considerations.
• Assist in forming a comprehensive MEP contractor/vendor database for upcoming tenders
and project packages.
• Support tendering processes by preparing pre-bid estimates and reviewing priced BOQs prior
to tender submissions.
• Assist in RFP review and proposal preparation including scope clarifications, pricing
breakdowns, and strategy inputs..
• Participate in contractor negotiation meetings, review commercial submissions, and assist in
finalizing rates.
• Draft letters of award and compile contract documents ensuring scope, terms, and
deliverables for MEP works are accurately represented.
• Prepare MEP-specific BOQs for compliance with specifications, drawings, and project intent.
• Ensure all documentation practices align with Quality Management System (QMS) standards
and audit requirements.
• Review MEP system design drawings and sequence to verify constructability and integration
across disciplines.
Post contract:
• Manage measurement and certification of MEP works executed on-site, ensuring accuracy
and fairness in contractor payments.
• Conduct and verify on-site MEP service measurements to support interim valuations and
variation analysis.
• Maintain and update MEP drawing registers with drawing names, revisions, availability status,
and ensure access for stakeholders.
• Read and interpret MEP construction drawings and shop drawings to validate executed work
against design and BOQ.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly cost reports, risk reports, financial updates, and
provide value-adding commentary specific to MEP scope.
• Monitor site execution progress and validate sequencing of MEP activities for alignment with
cost and construction plans.
• Conduct material and vendor market research to support procurement decisions and provide
cost comparisons.
• Collate data from design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure clarity on
MEP cost scope and change controls.
• Participate in client meetings, support commercial discussions, and prepare minutes of
meetings (MoMs) highlighting key actions and decisions.
• Support the post-contract invoicing and variation review process, including documentation for
audit and internal reporting.
• Collaborate with team members and be a team player.
• Prior experience needed for at least three MEP projects (preferably 3 different project types
residential, commercial, infrastructure, etc.).
• Communicate and coordinate proactively with clients to align expectations, resolve issues,
and ensure satisfaction with MEP cost performance.
• Ensure complete adherence to internal QMS processes across all post-contract MEP cost
management tasks.
