About this opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity, with full relocation support to assist the Peruvian nation in reconstruction 15 hospitals, 74 Education facilities and 17 complex river basin solutions throughout Peru following the El Nino Hurricane events of 2017 which devastated several parts of the country. A large outcome of this programme is to transfer knowledge to the local Peruvian teams, working for the regional government departments, so that they can become sustainable in delivering major programmes in the future.
 
We are seeking a candidate with drive and energy with experience in the Infrastructure, Education and Health Sectors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reporting directly to the Project Director you will carry out and support the following duties:

    • Contract Management
    • Write a Contract Management Strategy
    • Agree the Strategy with Project Director and the Client
    • Fully understand the requirements of the programme
    • Manage the Contract Management Strategy
    • Lead the Contract Management Team

    Risk Management – input into

    • Contract Change Control – input into
    • Contract/Commercial Management – input into

    Cost Management – input into :

    • Prepare cost models, Cost Plans and Trackers
    • Prepare, validate and agreement of interim and final accounts
    • Prepare monthly reports
    • Complete savings report for internal records
    •  Attending / leading Commercial / Contract meetings
    • Comply with Quality Management Systems, processes and procedures

About You

Who we’re looking for:

The position requires the candidates to work in a collaborative environment and will be required to work both in an office in Lima, Peru and site-based locations.

You will be able to work in a Client facing role and develop relationships within the whole Team and have a forward-thinking approach with the ability to develop client relationships.

Fluent Spanish (verbal and written) is desirable.

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

Candidates will have a broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Contract Management of large programmes or work. Experience of NEC3 will be extremely beneficial / essential and knowledge of the infrastructure, education and health sectors would also be beneficial

In addition to having the following skills, candidates personal and communication skills, ambition, drive and energy will be considered important to be successful:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience is essential
  • The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good understanding of collaboration and associated behaviours
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Methodical way of thinking
  • Good financial and numeracy management skills
  • Knowledge of standard forms contracts (particularly NEC3)
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Computer literate

Qualifications

  • You will be degree educated in a RICS accredited Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying course or equivalent and be MRICS qualified or equivalent for Project Management.
