We are recruiting for an experienced Project Director within quantity surveying/ cost management to lead a team in the commercial management of large nuclear decommissioning projects. As a Project Director you would have responsibility for developing and management client relationships, leading and motivating teams, as well as provide high level strategic advice on all things commercial.

In this role you will play a key part in delivering and monitoring Nuclear Decommissioning programmes which are the most technical and complex challenges facing the UK today, helping us leave a safer environment for future generations.

Your day to day could sometimes involve:

  • Acquisition Strategies
  • Commercial lead for certain business units
  • Support in business case development
  • Support the development of the procurement / subcontracting strategy
  • Market engagement
  • Develop incentivisation proposals
  • Stakeholder engagement with proposed delivery team
  • Governance and assurance of contract agreements
  • Undertake independent review of agreement
  • Training and development of APC Candidates

However no two days are the same, we are a flexible team that support each other’s projects as well as getting in involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development. 

 

About You

Who we’re looking for

  • We are seeking candidates relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management, experience in the Nuclear / Civil engineering / Engineering (Including Service Contracting) sectors is essential
  • Candidates will have a broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Procurement, Supply Chain, Cost and Commercial Management - ideally both pre and post contract. Experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite, and Public Contract Regulations 2015 would be beneficial, and candidates personal and communication skills, ambition, drive and energy will be considered equally important to be successful.
  • Applicants should ideally be HNC, HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, Construction Law, or similar / relevant discipline, or in some case applicants with an alternative background (e.g.: Engineering) may be considered.
  • Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES or CIPS is desirable
