An exciting opportunity has arisen for Intermediate and Senior Level Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to join our growing Building Services team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The roles are to support our Building Surveying department with both inspection and design-based services. We have many existing programmes of work which require immediate involvement both locally and nationally, and we have a strong pipeline of opportunities going forward.

The current MEP team has a rapidly expanding profile and an interesting portfolio of work including large decarbonisation schemes. Projects are spread across both the private and public sectors with several blue-chip clients. As a result, there are opportunities to progress quickly within a vibrant and successful team environment.

You will be actively involved in assisting in the delivery of the following services:

  • Design services for projects up to £5m in value
  • Decarbonisation feasibility studies
  • Engineering calculations using industry standard software
  • Preparation of specifications and drawings
  • Preparation/ review of cost estimates throughout the RIBA plan of work stages
  • Evaluation of contractor’s design proposals
  • Quality monitoring / site installation inspections
  • Condition Surveys and strategic life cycle appraisals.
  • Site inspections of works in progress.
  • Contribute to the standardisation of documentation across our business.

About You

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  • We are looking to recruit enthusiastic Engineers who are degree qualified and actively working towards chartered status with CIBSE/IET.
  • Passionate and driven about your profession.
  • You should be capable of using industry standard design software and AutoCAD/Revit.
  • You will have experience working in a similar surveying / design consultancy practice.
  • You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus enthusiasm and ambition.
