About The Role

Are you looking for an Apprenticeship opportunity within Quantity Surveyor / Cost Management in an independent leading, global construction and management consultancy?  We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our team in Nottingham to start in September 2023.

Gleeds team provide pre and post contract services to a wide range of clients within the following sectors: Education/ Universities, Retail, Rail, Hotel/Leisure, Commercial, Defence & Healthcare.

About this opportunity

Quantity Surveying/Cost Management - You will provide support to the Quantity Surveyors/Cost Manager in managing the cost allocation and budgets of construction projects. Responsibilities will range from early cost advice to settlement of the final account. These projects could include new builds, renovations, maintenance work and other client requirements.

Our Apprenticeship Programme will provide you with the opportunity to study and obtain a Chartered Surveyor Degree level 6 Apprenticeship, whilst gaining hands on experience.  

This includes on the job learning, mentorship, professional reviews, a dedicated development team and all the tools and support needed to be successful in your career!

You will follow the Level 6 Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeship Standard. This apprenticeship runs over five years and includes studying for a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will work towards qualifying as a Chartered Member (MRICS) of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). 

About You

Who we’re looking for:

  • You will have five GCSEs, grades A*-C including Maths and English (grade 4) and above or equivalent
  • Three A Levels at grade B or above, or equivalent e.g., BTEQ level 3 grades DDM this must be obtained by August 2023.
  • Right to live and work in the UK.
  •  Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes.
  • Sound problem solving, negotiating, financial management and numeracy skills.
  • Good ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
