About this opportunity

This is an opportunity to join the newly introduced Built Environment Team which is committed to finding creative but feasible solutions for the public sector, centred on the unlocking and bringing forward of challenging and complex-built environment projects. The Built Environment Team has already secured a number of Local Authority and private sector clients appointed to deliver projects with a range of outputs, including residential, commercial, retail and leisure and media/film uses.

The Built Environment Team is currently made up of a Director, Project Director and Graduate support from the wider Project Management Service (to which the Built Environment Team sits).

Assisting Project / Programme Manager required to support the Built Environment Team in the delivery of projects and programmes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assisting the Built Environment Team in:

  • Delivering high quality services and ensuring that project management and/or programme management deliverables meet customer requirements
  • Delivering high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures
  • Administering contracts as contract administrator, employer’s agent or project manager
  • Producing and presenting to customers
  • Project set up and coordination of wider appointed Consultant Team (internal and external)
  • Preparing bids for services and supporting the Built Environment Team wider Business Development Strategy
  • Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks (where required)
  • Remaining in the remit of your role

About You

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  • Further post graduate experience in project management and/or programme management
  • Develop knowledge and experience in the following:
    • Project stages
    • Project management tools and techniques
    • Procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
    • Specification and procurement of facilities supplies and services
    • Health and safety for facilities services
    • Contract administration and management
    • Authority processes (not essential)
  • Clear and effective communication skills – both oral and written
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Sound problem solving, negotiating, financial management and numeracy skills
  • Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Qualifications

  • BSc Degree
  • Undertaking to attain professional membership – RICS, CIOB or APN or equivalent standard
