About The Role

Location: Remote, with travel 

Gleeds is an independent global Construction consultancy, specializing in Program and Project Management, Project Controls and Strategic Advisory. We are currently looking to fill an Infrastructure Lead role to support our growth in North America. This role will report to the Global head of infrastructure, and have P&L responsibility over the infrastructure projects in the US and Canada.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in leading and growing a consulting business, with a focus on Infrastructure projects ranging from Rail, Aviation, and Power Transmission projects.

Role and Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):

  • Build and manage a Gleeds team across the country/region to deliver the strategy and relevant activity.
  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of Gleeds Infrastructure operations in the country/region, including all people & performance, financial and general office management issues. 
  • Work with the Global Head of Infrastructure to build a robust financial budget and ensure that all activity is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Ensure that resources are effectively deployed across the market/region, and financial performance is constantly monitored and corrected if necessary.
  • Create an enabling and positive environment where individuals take responsibility for managing projects in their respective areas and working together as a team across the country/region to deliver them. 
  • Oversee the delivery of all activity across the market with ambitious targets in place which can be evaluated accordingly. 
  • Represent Gleeds Infrastructure interests in the country/region and be the face of Gleeds, ensuring a high profile with the market and across Gleeds peers and industry. 
  • Work with the Gleeds central teams to ensure that key stakeholders in the region are fully aware of marketing opportunities available in the country. 
  • Work closely with local government partners throughout the country/region, to ensure Gleeds brand is promoted positively in country/region.
  • Oversee key Gleeds personnel visiting the country/region and attend all country and regional meetings when requested.
  • Continually develop Gleeds strategy and operations in the market/region, ensuring that Gleeds vision and strategic objectives are met.
  • “Own” the market and ensure authority for professional services in country/region and are considered to be the go-to consultant in areas of specialism.
  • Work with teams across the business to ensure a cohesive approach across all channels in the country/region that reflect the strategic imperatives and deliver the relevant targets.

About You

The successful candidate should have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working within the Transport (Air, Marine, Rail & Road) and/or the Utilities (renewables, power generation, power transmission, water (clean & dirty), gas transmission, telecommunications) sectors. 
  • Demonstrable experience of working strategically and creatively to meet the demands of the role and business goals. 
  • Excellent knowledge of the local market landscapes with a wide-ranging and well-established network of local and international contacts
  • Proven track record in winning work and leading and managing a profitable business
  • First-hand experience and comprehensive understanding of the local culture in addition to a global perspective of differing cultures
  • Effective influencing & communication skills with both internal & external stakeholders at all decision-making levels 
  • Excellent written & spoken English is essential, relevant foreign languages desirable
  • Excellent proficiency across all Microsoft Office applications
